Medics Care MC-985 Automatic Foot Spa Massager
Overview
I've wanted to upgrade my foot bath setup for a while now. I generally make an effort to take care of my feet with regular pedicures and massages, and after intense workouts, I feel like a good foot spa can really help with recovery.
For years I had an old foot bath that still worked just fine, but newer, more advanced models kept coming out, and I figured it was time to upgrade - hopefully making the whole experience more enjoyable too.
I ended up getting this one while it was on sale. It's foldable, looks a lot more impressive, and comes with a wireless remote. I was curious to see whether all these upgrades actually add real value compared to my old, simple foot bath. In this review, I'll share everything you need to know about it.
What I'm Testing
Similar collapsible foot spas on the market share a common set of praise and complaints. Here's what I'm specifically checking on this unit before forming my final verdict:
- Bubble strength - commonly reported as weak or barely noticeable on similar units. This one has an integrated air pump, so worth confirming if it actually delivers.
- Active heating vs. keep-warm only - the most common complaint on comparable spas is that they only maintain the temperature of the water you add, without actively heating it. This unit uses a ceramic PTC heating element, which should mean real active heating - a potential real differentiator if it holds up.
- Temperature control - the wireless remote includes Temp +/- buttons, which should address the lack-of-control issue seen on simpler competitors, if it works as described.
- Roller placement - a recurring complaint on similar units is that the massage rollers aren't positioned for maximum effectiveness.
- Ease of use - simpler competitors are praised for being straightforward. This unit has more controls (remote + touch panel), so worth checking whether that adds convenience or complexity.
- Long-term reliability - some users report similar units shutting off or failing after just a few uses. Something to monitor over time, not just on day one.
- Power cord placement - a minor but recurring annoyance on comparable units.

Inside the box
Pros
Foldable Design Features a foldable and easy-to-store massage tub structure, making it convenient to pack away when not in use.
Wireless Remote Control Equipped with a wireless remote control for easy and simple operation of the device's functions from a comfortable position.
Cons
Premium Price Tag At full price, the MC-985 sits above some competing foot spas - likely reflecting extras like the 360° rotating rollers and wireless remote. It does show up at a lower sale price from time to time, which makes it a much better deal when that happens.
Overall Verdict
This product is still being tested. I want my verdict to be based on real, repeated use - especially on the points that matter most here: whether the heating is genuinely active, how strong the bubbles actually are, and how the unit holds up over time. Rather than rush a conclusion, I'm leaving this section open until that testing is done.
Still being tested - this section will be updated soon with my full verdict.
