Rii Mini i28C Wireless Touchpad Keyboard Combo

Overview
Lately I've been reviewing quite a few mini wireless keyboard and touchpad combos, mostly in the context of controlling devices like smart TVs, mini PCs, and remote desktop setups. It's clearly not a replacement for a full keyboard, but having one around is always handy, especially when the price is right.
Each model I've tested has taught me something new. At first it was the backlit keys. Once I had them, I couldn't imagine going without. Then came Bluetooth support after years of 2.4GHz-only devices. And gradually, other features started mattering too: ergonomic design, build quality, built-in rechargeable batteries, and more.
I've been genuinely impressed by how capable some of these simple-looking devices turn out to be. This particular model caught my eye. It looks more advanced and refined than anything I've reviewed in this category so far. The question is whether it actually brings something new to the table.

Pros
Plug and Play No drivers needed — just plug in the USB nano receiver and it works immediately on any compatible device.
Backlit Keys Offers backlight illumination, making it comfortable to use in low-light environments — a feature not all mini keyboard combos include.
Responsive & Long Range Both the keyboard and touchpad respond well, with a reliable wireless range of up to 10 meters.
Built-in Rechargeable Battery Includes an integrated rechargeable battery — no need for disposable batteries, which is my preferred setup for devices like this.
Futuristic Design The i28C looks more modern and refined compared to earlier models like the Rii Mini i8+, making it a more visually appealing option on your desk or couch setup.
Cons
Nothing New Beyond the Design Except for its more modern look, the i28C doesn't offer anything functionally different from the Rii Mini i8+. Unless it's priced the same or you really love the design, there's no strong incentive to choose it over cheaper alternatives.
Overall Verdict
Having reviewed quite a few mini wireless keyboard and touchpad combos, the i28C stands out for one clear reason: its design. It looks more modern and refined than anything else in this category I've tested so far.
But beyond the looks, it does exactly what the other models do. The keyboard responds well, the touchpad works reliably, the backlit keys are a genuine plus, and the built-in rechargeable battery is the right call. There's nothing missing here — it just doesn't bring anything new to the table either.
The recommendation is straightforward: choose the i28C over competing models only if you genuinely love the design, or if you find it at a better price. Otherwise, a less expensive alternative will serve you just as well.
A capable and well-designed mini wireless keyboard combo. If the look appeals to you or the price is right, it's an easy recommendation. If neither applies, a cheaper alternative will do the same job.
