Summary:

A compact LED panel, easy to operate, generates both Daylight & Tungsten lighting, great as a fill light.

The brand: Andoer (other brands might be: Docooler /capsaver / SAMTIAN / spash / Travor / Tycipy / JinTu).

The model: L4500 (the model is usually the same, but under different brands).

The pros:

Compact measurements – The size of the Andoer L4500 makes it easy setup, operate and carry.

Illuminates well – According to the user manual, the panel illuminates up to 1650LM, and you raise/lower the light level on a scale of 1%. In reality, it seems really good.

As can be seen in my video, I compared the Andoer L4500 with the YONGNUO YN600 Air that I’ve been using for a while.

Both panels cover about the same area generates about the same output, but the L4500 is more compact and has the U-mount that fits better with my current lighting setup.

Bi-color temperature – Tungsten (3200K) & Daylight (5600K) color temperture, you can change it in scale of 200K units.

Can be operated using power adapter or batteries – You can choose how you want to operate the Andoer L4500, and not be limited to only one power source.

The power adapter (12V-5A), is supplied with the package. If you intend to use batteries, well you’ll have to purchase them on your own because they aren’t supplied with the package).

Includes LCD display – the display isn’t that big but shows the relevant info and is easy to read, with blue illumination.

Durable body – The panel’s body is mostly made from aluminum alloy. Thus, it seems to be more durable compared to other panels, that are made from plain plastic.

The body itself didn’t heat while using it.

The body includes “U” shaped support bracket – The bracket allows you to mount the panel on a tripod stand, Super Clamps stud, etc.

Also, it allows rotating the panel in different directions, up to 360°.

On each side, the panel has 3/8″ threaded inserts, so there are even more ways to mount this panel.

Supplied with a protective carry bag – Traveling with this LED panel never been easier. The bag is of good quality and offers excellent protection to the LED panel.

Quiet LED panel – The new generation of LED panels doesn’t generate any noise, but since I’m still using LEDs that had a cooler inside, I think it’s still worth mentioning.

The cons:

It’s better as a fill light rather than a key light – This is my personal opinion, but based on my experience and use with lightning for my productions, this LED panel would be suitable as a fill light.

The LCD display flickers sometimes – The flickering doesn’t occur all the time, and it doesn’t really bother me, but knowing that happens requires a solution. I’ve read somewhere it is caused because of changes in the electric rate when you lower/raise the lights.

Small control buttons – In my opinion, the power switch and the knobs are too small. There’s enough space at the back of the panel to use larger control buttons.

Removing the filter plate isn’t that simple – though I don’t have any intentions to remove the filter plate, I’ve read this is possible.

As I showed in my video, there is a 2-side clip to remove the filter plate.

But you also have to unscrew some screws, and this is just too much work and a recipe for a disaster. That’s why I prefer to avoid doing that at all.
