Do you need your fitness tracking synced to your phone and apps, or is a dedicated standalone watch enough?
I've tried a smart band or two as they started popping up here and there, but I never really got into the whole dedicated GPS running watch world, Garmin and the like feel like a bigger commitment than I'm ready for. So when I came across the EZON T031 at an interesting price, it felt like a low-risk way to actually try that out for myself.
Worst case, I end up with a decent watch either way. Best case, it also helps me stick with running. Let's see how that bet plays out.
Product details
The EZON T031 is a multi-functional watch built around a GPS receiver. Beyond standard time, calendar, and alarm functions, it uses GPS to reset the time automatically according to the city you've set, and to measure distance, pace, speed, and calories burned during exercise. It saves and displays your last 10 exercise records, and is built for long battery life rather than constant recharging.
The watch charges via an included USB cable with charging clamps that clip onto the back of the watch, lining up with the contacts there to complete the connection. A full charge from empty takes about 2-3 hours, and a charging icon on the screen flashes while charging and stops once the battery is full.
During GPS-tracked exercise, the watch supports an "Auto Lap" feature: set a lap distance of 0.5km, 1.0km, 2.0km, or 5.0km, and once GPS is active, the watch automatically logs a lap each time you cover that distance, recording lap number, duration, pace, distance, and average speed, for up to 50 laps per exercise session.
The stopwatch supports both a count-up timer and a lap timer, with a maximum measurement of 99 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds. The backlight stays illuminated for about 5 seconds per press, and the watch is rated water resistant to 5 ATM, fine for handwashing, showering in cold water, or swimming, but not intended for diving, sauna use, or pressing any button while underwater.
One quirk worth knowing upfront: the watch ships factory-set in a sleep status. To wake it and see the time displayed on screen, press all four buttons together. While in sleep status, the watch keeps time internally but won't show anything on the display.

Pros
Build Quality Everything about this watch feels like it's sitting firmly in place. The buttons are big and responsive, and the strap is convenient and elastic without holding onto sweat.
Design The black, rounded look pairs a bright display with clear, sizable digits and big buttons, without ever looking loud or gimmicky.
Very Comfortable to Wear Worn for several days straight, including sleeping and running with it, it has a solid presence without ever feeling heavy or getting in the way.
Easy-to-Read Display The big digits mentioned above make it genuinely easy to read your stats at a glance, no squinting required.
Backlight Works well at night and in dark environments, useful for early morning or evening workouts.
Solid Feature Set Not being a professional athlete myself, this watch still seems to cover all the features someone looking for a fitness watch would actually want.
Overall Verdict
After wearing the EZON T031 for several days, running with it, sleeping with it, and putting its GPS tracking to the test, it holds up as a genuinely great, informative, and convenient fitness watch. The build feels solid, the display is easy to read at a glance, and the feature set covers everything a casual runner would actually want to track.
It does take some time to learn how to operate the menus and features properly, this isn't a watch you'll fully master on day one. But once it clicks, it becomes genuinely useful, even a bit addictive to check after every run. The one thing to be clear-eyed about going in: this is a standalone watch, not a synced one. It doesn't connect to Strava, Endomondo, or similar apps, and there's no way to export your data to a computer either, everything stays on the watch itself. If having your runs sync automatically to your phone or an app matters to you, this isn't that watch. But if you're fine with a dedicated device that just tracks everything on its own, it delivers exactly that.
A comfortable, well-built standalone GPS fitness watch with a genuinely useful feature set, worth the learning curve, but skip it if you need your data synced to your phone or apps like Strava.
