Gustino BE-505 Milk Frother A Budget-Friendly Alternative to the Nespresso Aeroccino3
Overview
When I started focusing on covering coffee, I noticed pretty quickly that most of what I ended up reviewing were Nespresso products. They're extremely popular, and for me they've become something of a benchmark for what a good coffee product looks like, maybe not the absolute best out there, but definitely a safe one. Nespresso makes solid machines, and their milk frother in particular is very well known.
Once the machine side felt covered, my curiosity naturally moved on to the next piece of the puzzle: milk frothers. Up to that point I honestly didn't know much about that world. The Nespresso frother was really the only one I had any real experience with, aside from those cheap, roughly $5 manual whisks that run on a single AA battery, which don't really count.
That gap in my own experience is what made me start looking into it, and that's how, while browsing online, I came across the Gustino BE-505. In photos, it looked nearly identical to the Nespresso frother, and its price was significantly lower, close to half of what the Aeroccino3 costs. At that point it was clear I was going to order one and find out for myself whether this was a genuine bargain or a letdown waiting to happen.
Product Description
The Gustino BE-505 is an electric milk frother modeled closely on the Nespresso Aeroccino3, matching its size, shape, and one-button operation.
It has a plastic outer shell with a stainless steel liner, coated inside with Teflon, and comes in white or black. It sits on a power base connected by an 80-centimeter cord, topped with a transparent lid. The unit reviewed here did not include a silicone or rubber sealing ring on the lid.
Two interchangeable whisks are included inside the jug: one with a metal coil for frothing milk, hot or cold, and a second, simpler one for heating milk without creating foam. An English-language user manual is included in the box.

Cons
Noise It isn't overly loud, but it's noticeably less quiet than the Nespresso Aeroccino3. The beep sounds it makes can also be annoying to some.
Build Quality Details Up close you can tell it's not the original: the base is a bit bigger and the plastic body has a slightly different texture, giving it more of a prototype feel than the Aeroccino3 it's modeled after.
Lid Sealing The lid on the unit I received didn't sit tightly enough to seal when closed. I couldn't find a clear answer on whether that's standard for this model or specific to my unit, so if you're considering buying one, it's worth checking this detail beforehand.
Overall Verdict
Going in, my main question was whether the steep price gap between this and the Nespresso Aeroccino3 it so closely resembles is actually justified, or whether the lower price comes with hidden trade-offs. Having reviewed a couple of other milk frothers before this one, I had a decent baseline to compare it against.
After using it for several weeks for my daily cappuccinos and hot chocolate, the milk taste and texture held up well, and the extra beep notifications turned out to be a nice touch some people might appreciate. Up close, it's a bit bigger than the Aeroccino3 and the plastic feels slightly different, and it runs somewhat louder. The lid on my unit also didn't seal properly, though I couldn't confirm whether that's typical for this model or specific to mine; if you're considering one, it's worth checking that detail before you buy. None of this turned out to be a deal-breaker in daily use.
If you're after an affordable, functional milk frother and don't want to pay Nespresso prices, the Gustino BE-505 is a product worth considering.
A close, functional copy of the Nespresso Aeroccino3 at less than half the price, noisier and less refined, but it gets the job done for daily cappuccinos and hot chocolate.
