SKMEI L28T Smartband An affordable smartband with a 0.91-inch OLED display
Overview
Smartwatches have become very popular lately, mainly since the leading smartphone makers, headed by Samsung and Apple, started making their own. Alongside them are smart bands, which are meant to be the alternative to smartwatches.
I came across the SKMEI L28T, which fits the definition of a smart band. Is it a watch? Is it a bracelet? And is it smart? I am going to find out in this review.
See the SKMEI L28T Smartband in action below before diving into the detailed breakdown.

The SKMEI L28T is a smartband with a 0.91-inch OLED display. It has no touchscreen: you operate it with the single button on the side of the screen. It connects over Bluetooth 4.0 to Android and iOS devices and syncs with the Lefit app.
It counts steps, distance and calories, monitors sleep, and vibrates for reminders, goals and notifications such as incoming calls, messages, calendar events, social media updates and e-mails. The band is made of TPU and is rated IPX4, so it handles splashes and sweat, but it is not meant for showers or swimming.

Pros
Easy to operate: In my opinion, it is not too complicated to operate.
Attractive price compared to other smartbands that offer the same features.
Cons
Not as comfortable to wear: Personally, I don’t find it as comfortable to wear on my wrist compared to other smartbands I reviewed so far. I would say this is because of its rectangular shape.
The display is vertical: The display is vertical and not horizontal, which is not convenient in my opinion.
The Lefit app could be better: I think that the supporting app for this smartband (“Lefit”) could be better.
Visually - Its design seems simple and not so modern.
Functionally - I’ve seen better and more intuitive than it (for example, the night sleep monitoring screen is unclear at all).
Accuracy is uncertain: Like previous smartbands I reviewed so far in the past, I am not sure how accurate this smartband is, because I tested it at the same time with another smartband, and each showed different results, so there is probably a deviation, which stems from the G-sensor sensitivity.
Value for money: You can add several bucks and get a more advanced smartband that does everything better.
Overall Verdict
As a watch and gadget enthusiast, I have not yet decided whether smartwatches and smart bands are similar, complementary or completely different products. It is also unclear whether they are essential products that empower us, fashion accessories, or maybe just a way to help the big manufacturers monitor us, inspired by Big Brother.
At first glance, the SKMEI L28T looks like a digital watch that can do a few advanced things. I would not call it a smartwatch yet.
It is affordable, offers the basic features of most smartbands sold today, and is not too complicated to operate. On the other hand, it is not as comfortable on my wrist as other smartbands I have tried, and the Lefit app could be better.
The SKMEI L28T is a good alternative if you have never owned a smartband, or you do not want to spend much on one. It is affordable, offers the basic features of most smartbands sold today, and is not complicated to operate. For a few dollars more, you can find better alternatives with a nicer design, a more comfortable fit, sometimes a touch screen, and a better app.
