Rii i8+ Wireless Keyboard Mini Touchpad Combo with Backlit Keys

Overview
After reviewing the Rii Mini i8, I discovered there was a newer version with backlit keys. That felt like a natural and obvious upgrade worth checking out, so I decided to get the i8+ and see whether the addition of backlighting makes a real difference in day-to-day use.
If you are going to use a mini wireless keyboard in low-light conditions, like controlling a smart TV from the couch, backlit keys stop being a gimmick and start being genuinely useful. That was the question I wanted to answer.

Designed for smart TVs, Android TV boxes, mini PCs, HTPCs, and similar devices, it works well from the couch at distances of up to 10 meters. The version reviewed here includes a multifunction backlit keyboard with Hebrew key markings alongside the standard Latin layout.
Inside the box
Pros
Backlit Keys The illumination is both useful and good looking. It makes the keyboard comfortable to use in low-light conditions, which is exactly the kind of situation you find yourself in when controlling a TV from the couch.
Comfortable Grip The sides of the keyboard feature a textured plastic grip with a leather-like appearance. It feels comfortable to hold and adds a premium touch to the overall feel. The material is plastic, not actual leather, but the texture and feel are genuinely pleasant.
Cons
Limited Use Case This is a situational tool, not a replacement for a full keyboard and mouse. It works well for smart TVs, remote desktop control, or casual couch use, but don't expect it to handle demanding or precision-heavy tasks.
Overall Verdict
The Rii i8+ takes everything that worked in the original i8 and adds backlit keys. That might sound like a small upgrade, but in practice it makes a real difference, especially when using it in a dark room to control a TV or media box.
The leather-like grip on the sides is a nice touch that makes it comfortable to hold for extended periods. Just keep in mind this is a situational tool, not a replacement for a full keyboard and mouse setup.
A solid upgrade over the original i8. The backlit keys and comfortable grip make it the better choice if both versions are similarly priced.
