Bird Travel Cage (Model: TT15) A portable metal travel cage for small and medium birds
Overview
Not long ago I told you that The OVR Bird came into my life, a Quaker parrot who adopted me and joined the OVR family. I love him very much and want to take care of him, so he will feel as comfortable as possible in our magical kingdom. I made sure he has a big cage at home, but I also need a solution for when we go out together.
From time to time I have trips where I am away from home for a few days, or I take him to the vet, so I am on a search for solutions to get around with him. Until now I did not have any way to move around with him, and I am learning as I go what suits him and what does not. I try to consult with people and see who can be trusted, because a whole new world has opened up for me here, and I do not have the privilege of making mistakes with him.
I came across this cage, which on one hand looks big enough for my parrot to be comfortable in for a short stay outside the home. It looks interesting to me and the price is reasonable, so I decided to go for it. Is it a high-quality, practical travel cage that meets my needs? We are about to find out.

The Bird Travel Cage Model TT15 is a portable metal travel cage with a handle, made for small and medium birds, such as parrots, canaries, budgies, parrotlets, lovebirds, conures and cockatiels.
It comes with wooden perches for the bird to stand on, a drawer, two bowls for food and water, and wheels. The top perch also works as the carrying handle. It is a cage for trips, outings and vet visits, and I would not use it as a permanent cage because of its size.

Pros
Serves Its Main Purpose To Travel With Your Bird This bird travel cage is a suitable solution for short-term traveling or emergencies to the vet. The bird-proof door lock prevents your bird from escaping while the comfortable design helps your pet feel at home.
Enough Room For The Bird There is enough room for the bird to spread its wings, and it does not feel cramped inside. The bird will not fly inside the cage, but it has a place to stand inside, and outside on the carry handle.

Dimensions Make It A Versatile Cage This carry cage is suitable for small to medium-sized birds and parrots, including a parakeet, parrotlet, lovebird, caique, cockatiel, conure and budgie. Please note the size is a relative aspect, but in my case, as the proud owner of a Quaker Parrot, it serves as a secondary cage. For instance, when I am cleaning the main cage, and for a space to place more toys for my beloved winged friend.
Overall Frame Quality The cage's main material is a decent metal alloy frame. It is supposed to be rust-resistant and sturdy. Also, it is relatively light compared to similar travel cages.
The Top Perch Also Works As The Handle You can see this in my video: the top perch also serves as the carrying handle.
Comes With Quality Wheels I have had this cage for a long time now. The wheels are good quality and do not come apart easily. The cage rolls easily, but it does not slide.
Easy To Clean This cage is much easier to clean than the other, significantly bigger cages that my parrot has. Everything pulls out easily, and it is easy to even take it into the shower and spray it with water.
Seat Belt Collars (Seller's Claim) The seller's description says the welded bracket seat belt collars allow you to buckle the carrier into your car for secure automotive travel. I have not tested this myself.
Cons
The Drawer Might Slip Out While Traveling The size of the lock isn't big and/or long enough, so during traveling the drawer might slip out of the cage. If that happens, the bird will be able to get outside of the cage. One of the ways to cope with it is by carrying the cage with the opening of the drawer facing up or towards me.
The Locking Fixture Is Badly Designed The locking fixture used to hold the drawer in place was not designed properly. As a result, the drawer tends to move and can even fall out. I followed the instructions provided carefully but still faced this issue. I also tried to explore other ways of assembling it, but all my attempts were unsuccessful.
Screws Need Tightening The screws sometimes need tightening, and I try not to handle the drawer too much.
Not Comfortable To Walk With For Long The cage is not heavy, but it is not one you can comfortably walk around with for long. You take it knowing that you will place it in the car or at the location you are going to.
Doesn't Fit Easily In Certain Vehicles If you own a small car or a 3-door car, then it might be a difficult task to insert the cage and take it out. I traveled with other cages that are larger compared to this one, and I did manage to easily place it in my car's front seat.
Overall Verdict
The cage itself is high quality and very practical, and it suits trips and outings when you want to take a small or medium parrot with you (a Quaker counts as medium). It is well built, and there is enough room for the bird to spread its wings, so it does not feel cramped inside. The bird will not fly inside the cage, of course, but he has a place to stand inside, and outside on the carry handle.
At home I let him access the cage freely so he feels comfortable with it. It is his and made for him, and I want him to know that and feel it the next times I go out with him. A few times The OVR Bunny, my beloved rabbit, went into the cage, so I even used it a few times to carry the rabbit.
That said, although the cage is not heavy, it is not one you can comfortably walk around with for long. You take it knowing that you will place it in the car or at the location you are going to. The threading sometimes needs tightening, and my parrot likes to throw the metal bowls out. If I hold the cage at the wrong angle, the drawer may pop out. You just need to understand the structure of the cage and how to hold it, and that prevents the drawer from escaping.
A high-quality and very practical travel cage for small and medium parrots, good in build quality and materials, as long as you hold it properly and tighten the screws now and then.
