I wanted to get into running, so I started out buying running shoes, and ended up genuinely impressed with a few low-budget pairs along the way. The price was inviting, and the quality turned out to be surprisingly good. That got me wondering: is there really a point in spending more on well-known, successful brands, whose shoes are usually priced quite a bit higher?
Now that I see I'm sticking with running and actually committed to it, I decided to treat myself to the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 34. My goal here is simple: figure out whether it's worth investing a bit more, or whether I'm just paying for the brand name.

The Air Zoom Pegasus 34 is built with a synthetic sole and synthetic outer material, paired with a mesh inner lining for breathability. The shoe uses a standard lace-up closure system.

Pros
Weight The Air Zoom Pegasus 34 are relatively light shoes. I realize that after I reviewed several low-budget shoes that I thought are a bargain (check my previous shoe reviews), yet these are much lighter.
Comfortability It's a real pleasure wearing them, you feel the air units that are located beneath the heel & the forefoot area with every step you make. The shoes offer an excellent grip of the foot from front to back/top to bottom of the foot.
Decent Design I find the design modern yet not too extroverted.
Price I know I mentioned in my previous running shoes reviews that there's no justification to pay so much for shoes, so though the price might be high for some people, I now understand better the difference between low-budget running shoes and more expensive models. So, if you're looking for running shoes I think you can find the Air Zoom Pegasus 34 for a great price (less than $100).
Cons
There Is Already a Newer Model At the time that I purchased these shoes, the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 was already available.
Overall Verdict
These turned out to be exactly what I was hoping to find when I decided to spend more on running shoes: genuinely quality, comfortable shoes that feel like a different league compared to the budget pairs I'd tried before, and they justify every dollar I put into them. There's a reason this is a series with real continuity, one that Nike keeps refining and upgrading year after year. The understated design and the comfort hit exactly my taste, and I'm happy wearing these all day, whether I'm heading out for a run or just going about my day.
The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 34 is a genuinely great pair of running shoes that justifies its higher price tag over budget alternatives, thanks to noticeably better comfort, cushioning, and build quality. Warmly recommended, whether you're running seriously or just want a solid, comfortable everyday shoe.
