EasySMX SI-2029 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Overview
Keyboards are a central part of my daily setup, and I spend most of my day at the computer, both for work and for gaming. I was looking for a full-size external keyboard to connect to my laptop, something comfortable enough for long work sessions and capable enough for gaming.
I'd already had a great experience with EasySMX joysticks, so when I discovered they also make keyboards, it felt like a natural next step. I decided to go with the SI-2029 and put it through its paces.
Is there anything beyond the RGB promises and gaming aesthetics? That's what this review is here to answer.

Inside the box
Pros
Materials & Build Quality Made from ABS plastic & metal with a cloth-jacketed USB wire. At 1.135 kg it feels solid without being heavy — keys are attached properly and the whole thing doesn't feel cheap.
Responsiveness Each key gives a satisfying click and responds precisely. Supports N-Key Roll Over (all keys simultaneously) and 6-Key Roll Over for compatibility with older systems. N-Key Roll Over = all keys can be pressed at once. 6-Key Roll Over = up to 6 simultaneous keys (including modifiers), required on some older hardware/BIOS.
Design The red metallic body with exposed screws is unapologetically extroverted — but in a good way. It stood out at first, yet fits naturally into a gaming or work setup.
LED Illumination 9 preset backlight modes that are genuinely hypnotizing. Adjustable brightness and speed, plus the ability to define your own custom lighting modes.
Reasonable Price EasySMX consistently offers solid value for money. The SI-2029 is competitively priced compared to other mechanical keyboards with similar specs.
Cons
Power Consumption The LED illumination likely draws more energy than a standard keyboard. Nothing dramatic, but worth noting if you're mindful of power usage.
Design Can Be Polarizing The red metallic body with exposed screws is a deliberate aesthetic choice — and not everyone's cup of tea. If you prefer something understated, this isn't it.
LED Illumination Can Get Tiring Like most gaming accessories, the RGB lighting adds little practical value beyond looks. Over time, you may find yourself turning it off entirely.
Overall Verdict
The EasySMX SI-2029 was my first mechanical gaming keyboard, and it left a genuinely positive impression. Build quality feels solid, the RGB lighting is a legitimate highlight, and the typing experience is satisfying in a way a regular keyboard simply isn't.
N-Key and 6-Key Roll Over are real features — not gimmicks. They matter for competitive gaming where multiple keys are pressed simultaneously. That said, they're now standard on most gaming keyboards, so don't expect anything groundbreaking here.
Who's this for? Anyone drawn to the design and looking for a first step into mechanical keyboards. It won't redefine the category, but it does everything it's supposed to do — and does it well.
A solid first mechanical keyboard. The RGB is the star, the build quality earns its price, and the typing feel is comfortable, responsive, and satisfying.
