Nespresso Expert Automatic espresso machine with a built-in hot water dispenser
Overview
I'm an avid coffee drinker, and making video reviews takes a fair amount of energy to keep up with. That's part of why I've already covered a few Nespresso machines, though those were all fairly simple, older models on the market.
So when the Expert launched, it felt like a real opportunity to see what added value a machine like this actually brings, beyond what I already knew. On paper, it looks seriously impressive, but the real question is whether it justifies the purchase. That's exactly why I'm here.

The Nespresso Expert is an automatic original-line machine, running on the same capsule system as the rest of the Nespresso lineup, with a slider for capsule insertion instead of a top-loading lever.
According to the manufacturer, the machine draws 1150 to 1260 watts and reaches up to 19 bar of pump pressure. Heat-up time is about 25 to 30 seconds.

Inside the box
Pros
Design The Expert is a beautiful machine that looks modern, with rounded curves throughout, including the drip grid cup.
Automation Works Wonderfully Once a capsule finishes brewing, it drops straight into the capsule tray, a minor but functional touch that makes the whole operation feel smooth.
Temperature Dial You can choose how hot your coffee or boiled water comes out, making the machine more relevant for different tastes and needs.
Water Heating Feature The machine can boil water, which extends its use to other drinks like tea, instant soup, or hot cocoa. It's not a replacement for an electric kettle, but still a genuinely useful feature.
Smart Device Offers Bluetooth connectivity with a dedicated app for Android and iOS.The app wasn't active in my area during testing, so I can't give a solid opinion on it. If that changes, I'll update this.
Cons
Size The Expert is a large and fairly heavy machine. It worked fine for personal use, but it takes up more space than "personal use" coffee machines usually do.
Fragile Water Tank The plastic is prone to breaking easily, I prefer filling it while it's still attached to the machine rather than detaching it. As shown in the video, the tank's lid broke at the edge the first time it fell to the floor. The machine itself is well built, but that's not the case with the water tank.
Capsule / Drip Tray It has a tiny handle that's not very convenient to pull. The two parts sometimes detach from each other from the momentum of pulling, and the capsules and liquid inside create a mess. A better handle design would help here.
Smart Features Availability The Bluetooth connection and app aren't relevant in several locations, including the one I was in while reviewing the machine.
Overall Verdict
Despite the flaws with the water tank and the capsule tray, the Nespresso Expert is my favorite coffee machine so far.
What makes it stand out for me, beyond the design, which is unique and something I really love, is the temperature control and the hot water functionality. Being able to adjust how hot the coffee comes out, and to use the machine for tea, instant soup, or other hot drinks, adds a lot of everyday value beyond just making espresso.
I'd recommend it specifically if you enjoy a variety of hot drinks, or if it's going into a household with multiple users.
My favorite coffee machine so far, thanks to its temperature control and hot water function, worth it if you want more than just espresso.
